Walk a Mile in HER Shoes® is a symbolic march that gives men the opportunity to stand against the societal restrictions placed on women and specifically the issue of violence against women and children. We are abundantly grateful to our sponsors, walkers, teams, ambassadors, and donors, who over the past 15 years have helped raise $1,173,732 for Gillian’s Place.
Last October, despite the challenges imposed by the pandemic, our first-ever virtual event, Walk a Mile—COVID Style, doubled its fundraising goal and raised over $105,000. As we continue to respond to the challenges and demands from COVID-19, the need for our 16th annual Walk a Mile has never been more vital. With public health restrictions in mind and building on the success and inclusivity of Walk a Mile—COVID Style, Walk a Mile—YOUR Style encourages everyone in our community to march to end gender-based violence. Gillian’s Place needs everyone to walk to help reach our $120,000 goal to support women, children, and non-binary folks who have experienced abuse.
So, gather your friends, family, co-workers, and pets and join us on Saturday October 16, 2021 to march to end gender-based violence in Niagara.
