It is through the generosity and support of our community that Gillian's Place has been able to evolve into the organization it is today; a safe haven of support and resources for those experiencing abuse and violence in our community, and beyond. 

Looking to make a meaningful impact? Our Wish List shows all items we are currently in need of to help support those who turn to us for protection and support. Our Wish List is updated frequently to reflect the needs of those who are seeking safety and support from GP.

Items Currently in Need:

Gift Certificates 

Donating a gift card allows a single adult or mother the flexibility to make necessary purchases for themselves and their children. Our clients often need to buy clothing for school and work, school supplies, housewares, fresh food, or small appliances when moving into a new home that is safe and free from abuse. 

Gift cards help ensure our clients get exactly what they need, and restores the dignity and freedom of choice that was stolen from them. 

Examples of gift cards that are most useful are: Grocery (PC, Food Basics, Fresh. Co, Foodland), Gas cards, Walmart, Shoppers Drug Mart, Giant Tiger, Canadian Tire, Old Navy (school uniforms), Regional Bus Passes, St. Catharines Bus Passes.

Emergency purposes:

  • Cell phones with chargers for clients to call 911 in an emergency - can be used* 

Other items currently in need: 

  • Twin-sized comforters 

  • Razors

  • Shaving cream

  • Adult paint by numbers, diamond art

  • Cutlery and bowls

  • Conditioner

  • Deodorant

  • School snacks

  • Pasta, pasta sauce

  • Teethers

We require ALL donations to be scheduled for client, staff, and community safety. 

Gillian's Place is extremely appreciative of all donations we receive. Due to our secure location, we have to manage all appointments by donation due to the nature of our work and safety. We ask you call ahead to schedule an appointment to drop-off your donation at both locations.

Items we are UNABLE to accept and manage:

  • sample, travel, and hotel sized products

  • perfume

  • bar soap

  • hair dye

  • dietary supplements 

  • second-hand items 

Second-Hand Donations 

Due to healthy and safety issues, and lack of capacity to sort and store used items, we can no longer accept second-hand donations. Fortunately, we have developed partnerships with local organizations that are able to accept used items, and our clients can shop there for free.
